Udupi: To mark the 156th birth anniversary of Swami Vivekananda, Dharmastala Shantivana Trust, in association with Udupi Public Instruction Department and other like-minded organisations will be organising 18th edition of Children’s literary conference at Smt Rukmini Shedthi National Government First Grade College, Barkuru in Udupi on Saturday, February 2.
The conference will be inaugurated by senior litterateur and writer Babu Shiva Poojary and it will be presided over by Sweekrithi Shetty, an eighth standard student of Shubhada English Medium School, Kirimanjeshwara, Baindoor. During the inaugural programme, a collection of poems penned by the students will be released by Kannada Sahitya Parishat, Brahmavar President Ashok Bhat Chantharu.
There will be different sessions like ‘Hadihareya mattu Pustaka Samskruthi’, (teenage and book culture) ‘ Sahityada Odu mattu Jeevana Moulyagalu’ ( Literature and values of life) among others, where resource persons would shed light upon the topics. Poetry session will also be held, in which Kumari Pranamya of Venkatramana English Medium School, Kundapur will preside and Dr. Pranjna Marpalli of Poornaprajna Pre University College, Udupi will moderate the programme,
The valedictory of the programme will be held at around 3.15 pm. Udupi district president of Kannada Sahitya Parishat Neelavar Surendra Adiga will deliver the valedictory address, a press release said.
