Udupi: A major tragedy was averted here in Kundapur when a fishing boat carrying 32 fishermen caught fire in the middle of the sea on November 7.
Noticing the boat on fire, a few other boats that were sailing nearby rushed to the aid of the 32 fishermen and managed to rescue them.
Short circuit is said to be reason behind the mishap.
