Karkala: A traditional sports meet and Aati special event named ‘ Aatidonji Kamalada Koota’ was organised with great enthusiasm at the Bailugadde area near Neklajeguttu here on Sunday August 10. The event hosted by the local unit of the BJP was inaugurated by Karkala MLA V Sunil Kumar. This is the second year that such a programme has been organised by the party.
In his inaugural address, Sunil Kumar, appreciated the keen interest shown by his party men in reviving the traditional glory of Aati celebrations and also generating an interest as well as awakening among the people on the importance of the Aati month in Tulunad.
A variety of traditional marshy field sports events, both in individual and group category were organised on the occasion. A food show featuring Aati delicacies which help in protecting one’s health in the month of Aati, was also arranged.
Bola Prabhaker Kamath, senior BJP leader, Bola Sadashiva Shetty, Udupi District BJP Vice President, Maniraj Shetty, local unit BJP President, Pradeep Kotian, APMC President, Chandrahas Suvarna, Santosh Suvarna, BJP Leaders and others were present.
