Udupi: A local court has granted permission to Bannanje Raja, underworld don to attend the funeral of his deceased mother on Monday, August 27.
Villasini Shettigar (78), a retired teacher, mother of Bannaje Raja alias Rajendra Prasad passed away on Saturday, August 25, reportedly of injuries that she suffered after a fall at her residence. The funeral will be held on Monday.
It is learnt that Bannaje Raja will be brought to Udupi city under tight police security from the Hindalga Jail in Belagavi on Monday.
The court had allowed Raja to visit his ailing mother on July 9.
The district police will be maintaining a tight vigil at the funeral venue.
