Udupi: The Bajrang Dal and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) have launched a massive membership drive to strengthen their youth wing titled “Bajrang Dal Bharti Abhiyaan 2018” all over the state from February 4 to 18.
Addressing a press meet at the Udupi Press Club on February 3, Vilas Nayak Pangala, District President of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad said that since 30 years the Bajrang Dal and VHP have been launching massive membership drives all over the country. Bajrang Dal consists of more than 85 lakh members, he added. “The Bajrang Dal has been launching membership drives once in every five years. Likewise, this year the youth membership drive will be held from February 4 to 18”, he said.
Vilas Nayak said that VHP had decided to increase the its target members to 3 lakhs in Karnataka and 40,000 in the Udupi district. “Presently, there are more than 10,000 youth members in the Udupi district”, he added.
He also announced that the members of VHP and Bajrang Dal would be visiting the houses of every Hindu to create awareness about the organisations and encourage the people to join them. “After joining the organisation, the new members will have a one day workshop which will be held in every taluk in order to create awareness about national interest”, he said.
