Udupi: “People who have been insulting Pejawar Swamiji, should be arrested immediately”, said K Udaykumar Shetty, State Executive Member of BJP Karnataka.

Addressing the media at the Udupi Press Club on November 29, Udayakumar said that under the leadership of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), the Dharma Sansad and the Hindu Samajotsava were successfully held at Udupi and claimed that this was the reason that people were trying to sully and mire the image of the Swamiji. He said that the “photos edited in bad taste” and insulting of the Swamiji’s stature, were being shared on social media platforms.

“Paryaya Pejawar Swamiji has organised a successful Dharma Sansad in order to spread awareness among the Hindu community at large. We strongly condemn those who have been trying to malign the Swamiji and request the police to arrest those who have been indulging in these activities,” he said.

He further claimed that the thinkers and the Kannada intellectuals were trying to influence the voters by asking them to vote for a secular party because they were afraid of the success of the BJP’s Parivarthana Rally. “Those who are trying to protect the Kannada culture are acting irresponsibly and insulting the Kannada motherland. The Sahitya Sammelana should not be politically influenced”, he said.

Touching upon DySP Ganapathy case, he said after the CBI investigation concluded, one of the cabinet minister would go behind the bars for his involvement. He also claimed that Mines and Geology Minister Vinay Kulkarni was facing charges for the murder of zilla panchayat member Yogish Gowda, and that the chief minister was trying hard to close the case in order to protect the minister. “The murders of Hindu activists, officers’ assassinations, suicide of farmers all culminates in the assassination ‘bhagya’ of the government,” he said.

He further claimed that the chief minister had been trying to divide the Hindu community in order to gain the Lingayat votes, also stating that the people of Karnataka would “teach him a lesson in the forthcoming elections.”

“District In-charge Minister Pramod Madhwaraj should not see the Dharma Sansad in a political light. He was aware that lakhs of people would be participating in the Dharma Sansad and Hindu Samajotsava. Being a district in-charge minister, he should participate in the events. His absence from the Dharma Sansad is an irresponsible act on his part”, he said adding that they were appreciative of the district administration and the police’s efforts in helping the mega events run smoothly.

Rikesh Palan, Vijay Bhat and Saleem Ambagilu were present at the press meet.
