Udupi: The Congress expelled Amrith Shenoy from the party for a period of six years, on Saturday, April 6, for indulging in anti-party activities.
Amrith Shenoy, a member of All India Congress Party Committee (AICC) had filed his nomination papers for Udupi-Chikkamagaluru constituency as an independent candidate for the Lok Sabha election, to contest against the Congress-Janata Dal (S) coalition in the upcoming election.
Amrith Shenoy was a syndicate member of Mangalore University, a social worker and held several posts in various organisations. He was aspiring for a ticket from the Congress party to contest the LS poll but it was refused by the party high command.
