Udupi: We will take serious action against the Navayuga Construction Company if the NH 66 work is not completed by the end of December, warned Udupi-Chickmagalur MP Shobha Karandlaje.

Speaking to the in the city on Monday, September 30, Shobha Karandlaje said that the National Highway contract was given by the UPA government to the Navayaga Construction Company several years back. “After the BJP government came to power, the company’s work came to a standstill due to financial crises. Hence, Nithin Gadkari, Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways of India, held a meeting with the Navayuga company officials regarding the NH 66. The company requested financial assistance to complete the work, to which the government obliged,” she said.

“The company has once again stopped the work and is again citing financial problems as the reason. Nithin Gadkari again held a meeting with the company officials, who said that the work will restart once the rainy season ends,” she added.

Stating that there have been several complaints regarding the pending work on NH 66 she warned that if the pending work of the NH 66, including the Kundapur flyover, is not completed by December, action will be taken against the company.
