600 landless people to get title deeds soon : Udupi DC

Udupi: Deputy Commissioner Dr  Muddumohan has informed that the administration will take measures to distribute title deeds  to 600 land  less people in the district at the earliest.

Presiding over a meeting held at the DC office on Friday July 4 to discuss the issue, the Deputy Commissioner said all out efforts would also be made to reach the benefits of the government schemes to the target groups at the respective gram panchayat level.

He informed that 120 acres land has been identified in three taluks to distribute  site to landless. He also directed the Taluk Panchayat Executive Officers to prepare a list of eligible beneficiaries within the next ten days.

The meeting was attended by the taluk panchayat executive officers and tahsildars.

It may be recalled here that during the previous KDP meeting, the District in-charge Minister had directed the administration to    distribute  sites to one thousand landless people. The process of identifying land was later held  by convening  meeting of the gram panchayat presidents.
