Udupi: As many as 200 deep sea fishing boats departed from the Malpe port on Saturday, January 12, in a bid the “Suvarna Thribhuja”, the fishing boat that went missing off the coast of Goa on December 16, 2018.
The fishing boats will reportedly spend two days searching for the missing boat and its crew near the Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg and Malvan areas of Maharashtra. They will then proceed with the fishing activities. Satish Kunder, president of the Malpe Fisherman’s Association told Deccan Herald that a 25-fishermen committee had been formed to help with the search operations and investigations by the various agencies.
He also reportedly stated that efforts would be made by the association to make an action plan to find the missing boat and crew. Concerned bodies have also asked for efforts to find the boat to be stepped up.
