Udupi: As many as 20 passengers including the conductor suffered severe injuries as the private bus they were traveling in toppled near Nandalike Cross, Belman in Karkala on July 12.
A private bus plying towards Mangaluru from Karkala toppled after the driver lost his balance in driving due to over speeding. Due to the incident, 20 passengers sustained injuries. Among them, three were critically injured. Immediately, the locals who gathered at the spot rushed the injured to the various private hospitals in Karkala and Manipal.
According to police, negligence by the bus driver was the reason for the accident. The bus conductor sustained a fracture on his leg and a child was severely injured in the accident.
Karkala Rural Police have registered a case.
