Tumakuru/Bengaluru: Allegations of fake vaccinations after a video of two health officials in Tumakuru posing for cameras went viral have been denied by health minister Dr K Sudhakar.
Speaking to the media on Friday, Dr Sudhakar explained that the health officials seen in the video had already taken the vaccine. “They later posed for pictures as requested by the photographers who missed the chance to take the photos when the vaccines were being administered,” he said, adding that there is no need to “exaggerate the issue”.
Reportedly, among those seen in the video are Tumkur District Health Officer Nagendrappa and Dr Rajani M, who also clarified that they had indeed taken the vaccine shot before the photo session.
The video in question was posted by many netizens, including Congress member Salman Nizami, who wrote, “Would the government care to clarify this? Is this fake immunization Syringe or photo op or something that we don’t understand? Dear Modi ji — kindly throw some gyaan…?”
