Tumkur : State Law Minister T.B.Jayachandra has said that there was no question of dropping the Anti-Superstition Bill which the state government has proposed to implement.

Speaking to reporters at Tumkur, he said the Bill will be tabled during the Belgaum session of the Assembly. He made it clear that there was no question of  backtracking on the issue.

He has assured that the Bill will be implemented without hurting religious sentiments and added the Bill will be discussed in the House.

It may be recalled here that Chief Minister Siddaramaiah had earlier told that the Bill will not be tabled during the Belgaum session following widespread opposition on the grounds that it had hurt Hindu religious sentiments. However, the statement of the law minister that there was no question of backtracking, has raised eyebrows.
