Sira (Tumakuru): Goa chief minister and State Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief B S Yeddyurappa (BSY) are staging a political drama to misguide farmers, accused chief minister Siddaramiah.
The CM was reacting to media on the comment made by Goa Water Resources Minister Vinod Palienkar stating Manohar Parrikar’s letter to Karnataka BJP leader B.S. Yeddyurappa as a “political stunt”, on December 26. The Goa minister then went on to add that not “a drop of water” from Mahadayi river will be released to the neighbouring state.
The issue has to be resolved through Prime minister’s intervention, said CM Siddaramaiah expressing his willingness to talk about the issue and said, the assurance of sweet news from BSY has turned sour forcing the farmers to agitate further.
Both are staging a political drama, accused the CM and recalled the instance of communicating with Goa CM about visiting Goa to resolve the issue. But in response, the Goa CM asked me to visit after the elections, the CM stated, reiterating that the state government is ready for talks over Mahadayi dispute and PM should take initiative to solve it.
There are mixed reactions on the implementation of Sadashiva commission report and to take a final decision, a meeting is being convened, the CM clarified
The CM spiked rumours of him contesting from an alternative constituency instead of Chamundeshwari in Mysuru. “Congress president Rahul Gandhi will issue my ticket to contest and not rumour mongers,” said CM denying reports of him opting for Hebbal assembly constituency.
