Tumakuru: A leopard dragged and killed a two-and-half-years-old kid in Baichenahalli village of Hebbur Hobli in Tumakuru taluk.
According to the Tumakuru rural police, the deceased child has been identified as Chandana, daughter of Shrinivasa and Shilpa, a local farmer.
The incident happened on Saturday late at night when the kid was playing near the home.
Former MLA Suresh Gowda rushed to the village at the midnight and assured the villagers that he will ensure that forest department will either catch or kill the leopard, which has killed three persons over the last six months in the region.
Forest minister Anand Singh is likely to visit the village today.
