Tumakuru: Former prime minister and the Janata Dal (S) Supremo H D Deve Gowda filed his nomination, here on Monday, March 25.
He filed his nomination papers with the Deputy Commissioner (DC) and Returning Officer Dr. Rakesh Kumar in the noon at 2.15 PM, believed to be an auspicious time based on an astrologer’s advice.
He was accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Dr. G Paramehswar, JDS Spokesperson Ramesh Babu, former MLAs Shadakshari and Dr. Rafique Ahmed.
As HDD’s wife Chennamma Deve Gowda arrived at the DC’s office a bit late, HDD had already entered the DC’s chamber, due to which she decided to sit in the car.
Later, following HDD’s request, she was allowed inside the chamber.
Deve Gowda began his rally at 1.30 PM. As he came to know that the auspicious time was inching closer, he ended his rally abruptly and left for the deputy commissioner’s office.
