Tiptur: A girl, who had visited the Ganeshotsava on Sunday, December 2 in the district, died in a firecracker explosion.
The deceased is Sitara (21), a resident of Turuvekere taluk, Hadavanahalli village.
Like every year, this year too, the Tiptur Ganeshotsava was held. On Sunday night, Sitara was in Tiptur to witness the celebration. During the firecrackers show was on display, one of the firecrackers accidentally struck Sitara’s head, leaving her seriously injured.
Although she was taken to a hospital in Bengaluru, the doctors declared she was brought dead.
