Tumakuru: The villagers of Hirehalli had a surprise visitor on Monday, March 9. It was an elephant that entered into the village.
A video of the elephant entering the village has now gone viral.
In the video, the elephant’s surprise quickly turned into a nightmare for an old man, as it attacked him from behind and seriously injured him. The elephant pushed the old man onto a heap of jelly stones stacked for construction, and later kicked and squeezed him across the heap of jelly stones.
Reports suggest that the old man, Dasaiah (65) was severely injured and both his legs were damaged in the incident.
In the video, a man can be heard shouting, “It is the end of the old man” while gasping for air, as the incident sent a shiver down his spine.
Immediately, a woman also begins shouting and pleading with the villagers to remain in their houses.
Later, forest officials rushed to the spot and assessed the situation.
