Tumakuru: Even after a year, mystery continues to shroud the death of IAS office D K Ravi, who was found dead in his official apartment in Bengaluru after taking charge as Additional Commissioner of Commercial Tax Department, on March 16, 2015.
However, on Sunday, March 13, his parents, brother and fans observed his first death anniversary at his native village of Doddakoppalu village near Huliyurudurga in Kunigal in a grand manner.
Sources say that Ravi’s mother Gowramma had even pledged her ornaments to raise funds for the event, which was attended in large numbers by his fans, whose lives he touched as an IAS officer and relatives.
But, what was evident was absence of Ravi’s wife Kusuma and her family members, including her father Hanumantharayappa, aide of Energy Minister D K Shivakumar.
As per traditions, on this day non vegetarian food is served and Ravi’s family kept up the tradition and accordingly non veg food was served for over 1000 people who thronged to the village.
The fans paid rich tribute to Ravi at his grave and over hundreds of them donated blood at the venue. M K Chandru from Bengaluru released a book on Ravi.
