Koppal: The students of Morarji Desai Residential School at Tanakankal village of Koppal taluk were for a surprise on Friday, to see several VVIPs, led by none other than Chief Minister Siddaramaiah himself, on their premises.

The happiness on the faces of the inmates, both boys and girls, was evident when they shook hands with the Chief Minister and the latter enquired with them about the quality of food, their stay arrangements and also about their education.

The Chief Minister, after attending the marriage of the former Minister Amaregouda Byyapur’s son at Kushtagi, was on his way to MSPL airport to hop back to Bengaluru, when he chose to take some time off to visit the residential school.

Siddaramaiah, after ascertaining details that lodging and boarding were good and the academic performance of the students was excellent, expressed happiness, even as he exhorted them to put in good efforts to pass with distinction and come up in life.

He was accompanied by Ministers Shivaraj Tangadagi, H.S. Mahadev Prasad, Dinesh Gundu Rao and MLA K. Raghavendra Hitnal.
