Tumakuru: Former BJP MLA B Suresh Gowda has been charged for violation of election model code of conduct, here on Sunday, March 31, based on the complaint filed by Janata Dal (S) MLA D C Gowrishankar to the Election Commission.
Based on the complaint given by MLA Gowrishankar, the Election Commission has reviewed it and has filed a complaint at Hebbur Police Station.
About four days ago, Suresh Gowda had organized an election meet at Honasigere and while addressing the gathering, he asked the BJP party workers not to allow anybody from JDS inside the district. He directed the party workers to shout slogans against MLA Gowrishankar if the latter comes to the district.
Suresh Gowda had said that he would stand by his party workers, just the way Lord Krishna stood by the Pandavas. He had also asked the voters and party workers to enjoy the money if they get from Gowrishankar.
Election Observer D Jayaramanna had written a complaint to the Election Commission saying that MLA Gowrishankar had produced a video of inciting speech by Suresh Gowda, which was investigated thoroughly by the election officers and based on this stringent action must be implemented against him.
As the video had gone viral on Friday, March 29, Gowrishankar had filed a complaint on the same day with the Returning Officer Dr. K Rakesh Kumar and Superintendent of Police Dr. Vamshi Krishna.
