Periscope, the app that lets you broadcast live video from your smartphone on the internet has just released on the Google Play store today. The app was released for iPhones in March this year.

We tested the app out on a couple of Android phones, a Nexus 4 and a Yu Yureka, and the app worked seamlessly, without an glitches. The user-experience is has the same user elements as Twitter. The app lets you do public or private broadcasts, toggle the replay mode on the video, and keep track of how many hearts you get from your viewers.

Periscope requires a Twitter account to log in, should work on phones running Android 4.4 (KitKat) and above. Periscope’s predecessor, Meerkat released their version for Android phones earlier this month, InstaLively’s app currently on a beta is expected to be released on Google Play soon.
