Intex launches Asia’s first and cheapest Firefox OS smartphone

Intex, a popular Indian consumer electronics manufacturer has launched India’s cheapest smartphone. The smartphone called ‘Cloud FX’ is incidentally also the First Firefox operating system phone in Asia.

The Cloud FX has been priced as low as Rs. 1,999/- and is currently available for purchase online via exclusive retailer Snapdeal.

In response, another phone manufacturer Spice has also announced a Firefox OS smartphone titled ‘Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1’ which will go on sale from today.

Intex Cloud FX is a Dual SIM GSM phone that would feature a 3.5inch HVGA display, 1GHz processor, 128MB RAM, 2mp Back Camera, 46MB inbuilt storage, support for up to 4GB MicroSD card, GPRS, EDGE, WiFi, Micro-USB, Bluetooth, FM Radio and standard 3.5mm audio jack.

The Intex Cloud FX weighs 104 grams with dimensions of 115.9×62.11.8mm. It comes with a 1250mAh battery, which the company claims will deliver up to 4 hours of talk time and a standby time of up to 200 hours.
