Dravid inducted into ICC Hall of Fame

Dubai: Rahul Dravid, former Indian batsman, popularly known as ‘the wall’ and well-known coach achieves the ‘Hall of Fame’ honor. International Cricket Council (ICC) honored Dravid with this reward for his contribution to the international cricket.

Dravid, a proud Kannadiga, is the fifth Indian cricketer to get this reward. Sunil Gavaskar, Bishan Singh Bedi, Kapil Dev and Anil Kumble had achieved this feat earlier. This time, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and England’s player Claire Taylor also won the honor.

Dravid expressed his happiness and said, “I am very happy for the ‘Hall of Fame’ honor. It is a proud feeling to become one among the all-time great players. I am grateful to my friends, family, co-players, coaches and assistant staff. I have climbed to this height with their cooperation. I would never forget the support of Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) and BCCI. I am thankful to ICC as well.”

About Hall of Fame: To honor the all-time greats of Cricket for their contribution to the cricket, in 2009, the ICC started rewarding with ‘Hall of Fame’. Till now, 84 cricketers have got this reward including 7 women.
