Shivamogga: The Department of Information Science and Engineering (ISE) at Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering (JNNCE) is holding a week-long workshop on data science and classification using Python and MATLAB from July 16 to July 21.
The workshop was inaugurated on July 16 by former chairman of Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) A S Kiran Kumar. Highlighting the importance of the intelligent use of information, he said, “Data is flowing like oil across the world and it has to be refined and utilised carefully.”
Dr. D S Guru, the guest of honour, expressed his concern about the under-utilisation of Indian intellectual talent in the nation.
The principal of JNNCE Dr. H R Mahadevaswamy, Vice Principal Dr. Sreepathi, member of NES management A S Vishwanatha, S N Nagaraja, C R Nagaraj, Head of Department, ISE and Organising Chair Dr. Jyothi K, coordinator Dr. Prabhudeva S, organising secretaries Pavan Kumar and Arun Kumar were present.
