Shivamogga: “The people of Soraba have already given a befitting answer, by sidelining the Congress-Janata Dal (S) candidates”, said MLA K S Eshwarappa, here on Monday, October 15.

Addressing a gathering at the N E S Grounds, today in the party workers’ conference, Eshwarappa said, “The Congress party’s situation is very critical. A party which has a history of 125 years, was told to be dissolved by Gandhiji. As the leaders were unable to choose a candidate, Gandhiji had said this”.

“Former MLA Kagodu Thimmappa and Kimmane Ratnakar had said that they had no financial support to contest the elections. In such a circumstance, how will Madhu Bangarappa contest the elections and who is going to fund him?”, he added.

Adding further, Eshwarappa said, “With the Congress lacking candidates in this district itself, what might be their condition in the whole of the state? As former chief minister Siddaramaiah was betrayed by his own party, how will Madhu Bangarappa win the elections? Madhu Bangarappa is contesting this election believing such people.”

MP candidate BY Raghavendra said, “Unexpectedly, we are facing the Lok Sabha polls. By the blessings of our elderly leaders, I’m once again given an opportunity to contest this election from the BJP. The party workers have to strive hard. Only then can we achieve good numbers. By voting for the BJP, we need to strengthen and support Modi.”

“It is because of the efforts of the BJP, that the railway lines between Bengaluru-Shivamogga-Talaguppa were made possible. The establishment of the Central University, Medical College, Ayurveda College, Veterinary College, Kendriya Vidyalaya, Agriculture and Horticulture University, were due to the efforts of the BJP”, he added.

Raghavendra also said, “We have thought of a solution to the problems of the arecanut farmers. We have made several attempts to implement the national highways, railway lines and many other schemes and programmes from the Centre.”

MLC S Rudregowda said, “Congress party with a history over a century, has drastically fallen down to such a situation where it has no able candidate. This is a very pitiable condition.”

“The reason for such a setback is its selfish politics and motives. It is because of the hard work and sweat of our leaders, that our party is in a good condition. The party workers must work collectively. The elections have come as a shock to the Congress-JD(S) coalition. You must teach those party candidates a lesson”, he added.

MLA Hartalu Halappa said, “Former MLA Kagodu Thimmappa will be canvassing in the district tomorrow. I want you all to ask him a question regarding what has the Congress party contributed towards the Ediga community.”

“Yeddyurappa has worked for the upliftment of all the backward communities. We need to strengthen and support Yeddyurappa, by winning the by-poll”, he added.

Addressing the conference, Kumar Bangarappa said, “If the Congress party workers are true Indians, to build a better India they must join the BJP. Without announcing the candidates, the Congress party has left their party workers in a quandary. You’ll should make a note of this.”

“Elections cannot be fought based on community, caste and religion. But the Congress party is exactly doing the opposite. The BJP, on the other hand, will canvas with an agenda of development”, he added.

‘Victory is ours in three constituencies’
BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa said, “I’ve confidence that we will win in three constituencies namely Shivamogga, Bellary and Mandya in the by-poll.”

Speaking to reporters, he said, “It is confirmed that the BJP is going to bag the three constituencies. In the Shivamogga constituency, B Y Raghavendra will register a massive victory, regardless of any candidate from Congress.”

“There are no rebellions in Bellary. Minor confusions will be sorted out. J Shanta has an experience of being a one time MP, due to which I’ve confidence that she too will win Bellary”, he added.

Enraged regarding the statements made by CM Kumaraswamy on PM Modi that the latter was not cooperating and showing any sign of interest towards waiver of farmer loans from the nationalised banks, BSY said, “From the past four months, he is lying about the farmers’ loan waiver. He has no interest in it.”

MP G M Siddeshwara, MLAs Sunil Kumar, Raghupati Bhat, Govind Karjol, Renukacharya, MLCs Kota Srinivas Poojary, Ayanur Manjunath, Bhanuprakash, K P Nanjundi and other leaders were present.
