Shivamogga: The Shivamogga district administration and Election Commission will be conducting the ‘Ugadi Election Talent Hunt’, Volleyball and Chess competitions, to educate the participants on the importance of voting.
‘Ugadi Election Talent Hunt’ will be held on Sunday, April 7, from 4 PM to 9 PM, at Mahatma Gandhi Park in the city. Participants will be given 1 minute time to showcase their talents and win prizes.

A Blick chess and blindfold chess competition will also held on April 7. Stanley George will play the blind chess with more than 40 contestants simultaneously.
United Volley League 2019 will be held on April 13 and 14, at Nehru Stadium, in which 6 teams will be participating.
“All these programmes are being conducted to create awareness on voting. All the participants and the gathering will be asked to vow ‘I will vote, I will make Shivamogga number one’, before beginning the tournament,” said Deputy Commissioner of Shivamogga, K A Dayananda, IAS.
