Shivamogga: The collapse of a bridge at Ranjadakatte village, near Thirthahalli, has led to the interruption in vehicular movement between Udupi and Shivamogga.
According to sources, the water level in the stream has risen due to the heavy rains, causing a large portion of the bridge to collapse.
The bridge is used by hundreds of commuters travelling from Shivamogga, Davangere, Chitradurga, and other surrounding districts to Udupi, Manipal for medical treatment.
Due to the collapse of the bridge, ambulances and vehicles are expected to experience a lot of inconveniences.
According to the locals, the negligence of the PWD and National Highway Authority is to blame for the collapsing of the bridge.
