Shivamogga: The full-fledged implementation of the Smart City Project will start within three months, said Urban Development Minister U T Khader on July 25. He was speaking to media at the Inspection Bungalow in the city.
Khader said the Shivamogga City Corporation has already started some projects under the smart city scheme. Other projects with an outlay of Rs 900 Crore will start within the next three months, he added.
Every year, union and state governments each will provide Rs 100 Crore for the smart city project. “Projects such as Nehru Stadium volleyball court, hockey court and walk path are under progress. These will be completed within 11 months,” he said.
Further, Khader said that he had ordered the officials to complete the Smart City projects within the time limit. Requesting the cooperation of the people for the projects he said, “The smart city could be completed only with the support and coordination of locals and representatives.”
During the visit, the minister reviewed the construction at Nehru Stadium and water tank construction near Zilla Panchayat Office.
