Shivamogga to hold 11th Karnataka Science Fair from June 29

Shivamogga: With an intention to develop technology, create awareness against superstitions, and encourage modern thinking in the new generation, the 11th edition of Karnataka Science Fair will be held at Kuvempu Rangamandira from June 29 to July 1.

Speaking to media here on June 27, Secretary of State Science Academy Girish B Kadlewada said that the university students would take part in this fair. Including scientists, experts, resource officers and teachers, more than 1000 people will take part in the fair, he added.

There will be a nominal entry fee of Rs 100 for taking part in the event.

During the three-day fair, seven seminars on modern thought, public health, environment and development of agriculture in present conditions, general science, literature and science and technology will be held.

Experts including Abdul Rehaman Pasha, N A Someshwara, B R Gurprasad, Promod D Subbarao, Dr. Pramod Kutty, Dr. Narendra Nayak and K V S Sharma will take part in the event.

The entire programme will be in Kannada to create awareness and spread scientific knowledge among the general public. The birth anniversary of Dr. Vikram Sarabhai will also be celebrated as part of the event.

The fair will be inaugurated on June 29 by State Minister for Information and Technology K J George. B S Yeddyurappa, K S Eshwarappa, C M Ibrahim, K B Ashok Naik and Bhoje Gowda among others will attend the inauguration.

A S Chandra Shekar, Nagraj Parisara, Lokeshappa, Hema and Gayathri among others were present during the press meet.
