Shivamogga: Pertaining to the Sabarimala row and the Kerala government’s stand of adhering Supreme Court’s order, the Sabarimala Samrakshana Kriya Samithi had staged a protest in front of the Deputy Commissioner’s office here on Tuesday, November 20.
The protestors demanded a stop on the “violent behavior” of police with the Ayyappa devotees and the Bharatiya Janata Party workers, claiming that they were peacefully protesting to safeguard the Sabarimala’s rituals, practices and belief system.
They also urged the release of all those who were arrested in this regard.
The Samithi sought the intervention of the President of India to resolve the issue.
The Samithi has requested the Supreme Court to deliver its verdict on review petition soon.
Also, it has warned those who allowed women of the age group of 10 to 50 to enter the Sabarimala sanctum to not treat the decision of the Apex Court as their agenda.
