Shivamogga: The “Raitha Dasara” kick started with zeal on Wednesday, October 2, in spite of a one-and-a-half-hour delay.
Sporting events like kesargadde ota, tug of war, peeling the arecanut etc. were organized in the field behind the old sugar factory.
In the arecanut peeling competition, contestant Roopa peeled off about two-and-a-half kilos of arecanut in just 15 minutes, eventually winning the competition.
In the tug of war male and female categories, Anjaneya and team and Savitha and team won respectively.
On the whole, the “Raitha Dasara” showcased the real colours of the Indian village.
