Shivamogga: On the day of Narendra Modi swearing-in as a the prime minister for the second consecutive term, the district Bharatiya Janata Party distributed sweets, here on Thursday, May 30, at a flower stall located near Shivappa Nayaka statue and Gandhi Bazaar.
The party workers were seen raising nationalistic slogans.
Around 15000 laddus were distributed .
Speaking on the occasion, MLA K S Eshwarappa said, “The BJP party has come to power for the second time in a row and Narendra Modi has also become PM for another term. The party in the state had predicted achieving 22 Lok Sabha seats but the people decided that if PM Modi is going to come to power, then they would give us 25. Thus, the whole country has blessed the BJP party.”
Reacting to the resignation of AICC President Rahul Gandhi he said, “He is resigning from the post because he is distressed by the Congress party performance. Rahul Gandhi, who had constantly humiliated the BJP party, has now gone mum.”
When comments were sought on the Congress party, Eshwarappa said, “As PM Modi has come to power yet again, I would not like to involve in criticisms at this juncture.”
