Shivamogga: “I have worked with utmost sincerity and honesty towards the development of the railways and national highways related to my constituency and the 2019 Lok Sabha election is projected as a family-based poll”, said Member of Parliament of the Bharatiya Janata Party B Y Raghavendra, here on Saturday, March 23.

Addressing a press meet, he said, “It is left to the people to decide if they want a leader like Narendra Modi who believes the whole country as his family or Mahagathbandhan leaders who believe that they themselves are important.”

He slammed both the Congress and Janata Dal (S) for giving out statements against the Centre.

Earlier, Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar had said that the central government only responded to B Y Raghavendra in terms of water-related issues pertaining to the district, because he was BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa’s son.

Countering this, Raghavendra said, “It is a false allegation by DKShi against the Centre and JDS too has joined hands with the Congress in continuing the false propaganda.”

“DKShi’s false propaganda will not bear any impact as several Congress leaders including former chief minister Siddaramaiah had tried this trick in the district during the 2018 Assembly election, which did not yield any result”, he added.

He continued slamming the Congress party by saying, “They have humiliated BSY and MP Shobha Karandlaje by saying that they are married and the accusation that BSY has given Rs 1800 Crore to leaders at the Centre which they say is recorded on a diary, has become a joke of the year. This proves they are doing false propaganda.”

Raghavendra said that Yeddyurappa had no habit of writing a diary and that they had given a detailed letter about this to the Income Tax department, as an explanation to the allegation.

He has challenged the opposition party to order a probe on the diary and prove it.
