Shivamogga: Rural Development Minister KS Eshwarappa said on Thursday April 1 that there is nothing special about writing to the Governor.

Speaking to the press on Thursday at his residence here, he said that he had an administrative discussion with the Governor on the Rural Development Department on March 31.

“There is no need to give such importance to it. Only the opposition is giving importance to it. Should I question as to what they did is wrong?,” he stated. He further said, “I merely brought our department’s matter to the attention of the Governor.”

It was reported that Minister KS Eshwarappa had written a letter to the Governor regarding the delay in the release of grants to the Rural Development Department. In the letter he stated that the budget has been allocated at Rs 16,000 crore, which is a lot of central grants. He asked why there is no state grant under this project. He also questioned the objective behind not directly allocating Rs 1200 crore to the Rural Development Department but the MLAs directly so far. And that too to certain section of MLAs, he alleged.
