Shivamogga: “For the past six years, no one from Karnataka has decorated the chair of Governor or any other top portfolio in the country for that matter," said former chairman of the Karnataka Legislative Council, D H Shankarmurthy.
Speaking to the media on Wednesday, December 18, he said, “When Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee was the Prime Minister, Justice Rama Jois was made the Governor. After Narendra Modi became Prime Minister, in the past six years, none of the Kannadigas have been made Governor of any state.”
“Out of the 28 Lok Sabha seats in the state, 25 seats went to the BJP, enabling them to form the government for a second time. Although the state has given so much to the BJP, none from the state have been given top portfolios in the country. This is a very sad development," he added.
Meanwhile, D H S said that earlier, there were speculations that he would become the Governor of a state, but that did not happen even though he had been waiting for the opportunity.
