Koppal: The State government is not going soft on terrorists and anyone sympathising with them would be dealt with sternly, said Chief Minister Siddaramaiah here on Monday.
Speaking to reporters at Baldota helipad here on Monday, he said four terror suspects had been arrested till now and there were no plans to arrest innocent people in the name of terrorism.
CM Siddaramaiah said: “Whenever we arrest terrorists, you say the State has become a haven for them. And if we don’t, you blame the government for being soft on them. Why is this so?”, When asked whether the State had become a hideout for terrorists.
The chief minister was on his way to Thinthini to take part in a programme organised by the Halumatha community.
Replying to a query on his visit to a temple at his native Siddaramanahundi village in Mysuru district, Siddaramaiah said he had never claimed to be an atheist at any time. “But I do not visit temple every day. It is only a coincidence that I visited the temple a day after a fire scare in my helicopter. I don’t fear anything except public opinion,” he said.
