Shivamogga: Dance is the medium of communicating one’s inner most emotions with dignity and grace. Compared to any other dance forms in South India, Bharathanatyam is a preeminent classical dance form and the oldest as well. In cultivating cultural dance heritage, the abundance offered by Shivamogga’s Sahachetana Natyalaya is truly superlative. From the past 8 years, the Natyalaya is successful in recognizing various dance forms from every corner of India and introducing it to Shivamogga art lovers. In this regard, to honour the ancient heritage dance of Indian culture, Sahachetana Natyalaya is presenting ‘Natyaradhana 9’ a national dance festival.
This was announced during a press conference by Nruthya Guru Sahana Chethan. Natyalaya is coming alive with the 9th version of Natyaradhana in Kuvempu Rangamandira Shivamogga on August 24, 25 and 26 at 6.30 pm.
On the inaugural day, MLA of the Shivamogga constituency K S Eshwarappa, accompanied by MLC Rudre Gowda and Shivamogga District Commissioner K S Dayanand will be present as the chief guests. The disciples of Natyalaya will be performing on the theme “Lokashankara”, based on the compositions of Adishankaracharya, Sri Sri Chandrasekhara Bharathi Mahaswamiji and Sri Sri Bharathi Teertha swamiji on day one.
On August 25, the first part will be a solo recital by Nrutyaguru Sahana Chetan to the works of Sri Purandaradasa titled “Purandarakrishna” enacts Lord Krishna’s childhood and his wonderful miracles. Followed by Chamaraja Prabhaa- Reflection of Mysore dance legacy, a presentation by the senior students of Natyalaya to the literary works of Maharaja Jayachamarajendra Wodeyar and his court scholars.
On the last day, the guest group Mahipal Rajasthan group will be presenting their Rajasthani folk arts and another group of Channabham Pradeep Singh from New Delhi will be presenting the Manipuri Stick dance and Bamboo dance.
She also added that the stage is to be decorated by Vasu Vikram Arts, lighting service by Harige Gopalswamy and makeup by Purushotham Talavat and team. The event is supported by the Kannada and Culture Department, Bengaluru and Ministry of Culture, New Delhi.
On the valedictory of the event, Honourable MLA of Soraba Kumar Bangarappa and MLA K S Eshwarappa will honour the guest artists.
The nruthya guru Sahana Chethan has requested all the kalarasikas to gather in large numbers for the 9th Nnatyaradhana National Dance Festival for all the 3 days and join hands in making the event successful.
