Shivamogga: A National Conference on ‘Advanced Research in Science, Engineering and Management’ was held at P.E.S. Institute of Technology and Management (PESITM), Shivamogga on Saturday, May 26.
Dr. Ramesh Unnikrishnan, Director, AICTE, South-West Regional Office was the chief guest for the occasion. Arunadevi S Y, Joint Secretary of the P.E.S Trust, was the president.
The programme began at 9.30 am with the lighting of a traditional lamp by the chief guest, accompanied by the other dignitaries.
While addressing the delegates, Dr. Unnikrishnan said, “We must be proud about the college from which we graduate.” He also advised the delegates to develop self confidence in their students. In the last year, 395 colleges have shut down, so we must take some measures to improve the quality of teaching and learning by getting accreditation from NBA and NAAC, he added.
Arunadevi S Y, in her presidential address said, students should play a major role in the overall development of the country.
During the conference, more than 140 papers from 6 different sessions were presented.
PESITM Principal Dr. Ashok Kumar T, CCA Dr. Nagaraja and conference convenor Dr. M N Hiremath were present at the programme.
