Shivamogga: The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) police, in a raid, caught red-handed a MESCOM junior engineer of Shikaripura, Manjappa , here on Tuesday, November 27.
Manjappa had demanded Rs 3 Lakh from a farmer named Ramappa, to have a transformer installed in his land under the Akrama Sakrama scheme.
As a token of advance, Ramappa gave Rs 25000 to Manjappa on Tuesday noon, during which the ACB police caught Manjappa with the bribe amount.
The ACB police recovered the bribe amount immediately and took junior engineer Manjappa into custody.
The raid was conducted by ACP DSP Chandrappa, Inspector Tippeswamy, staff Vasanth, Nagaraj, Lachcha Naik, Harish and Srinivas.
