Shivamogga: In a fatal accident, a lorry carrying LPG cylinders toppled and exploded within seconds, burning the driver alive, in the early hours of Thursday, November 15, i.e, around 4 AM.
The accident occurred in Mandigehalla of Sagar.
The lorry was travelling from Sagar towards Kargal town.
It is understood that the mishap occurred when the driver lost control over the vehicle.
Due to the impact, around 20 cylinders exploded and went up in flames killing the driver on the spot.
The lorry belonged to Indane Gas Agency of IOC.
The firefighters rushed to the spot and were successful in containing the rapidly spreading flames.
A case has been filed in Sagar Rural Police Station.
No clue of the burnt lorry
Because of a massive explosion, the lorry is completely burnt down to ashes. The details of the driver, the number of people in the lorry and more such information is yet to be gathered, it is said.
The number plate too has burnt beyond recognition and the owner of the lorry is still not known.
The only information that is clear is that the body found is that of the driver.
