Shivamogga: A basic knowledge of the law will help people overcome several challenges that they are likely to face in their daily lives, said District Chief Magistrate K Natarajan.
Speaking at a law awareness programme jointly organised by the Government Women’s PU college, District Law Service Board, District Lawyers Union and Information and Broadcasting Department in Shivamogga on July 2, Judge K Natarajan said that the basic knowledge of law would help rectify the several errors that one might be committing ignorantly adding that books on basic law were being handed out for the purpose.
Government colleges should strive to provide the best quality of education and ensure better test results as compared to private colleges, he advised adding that the staff should work responsibly and honestly towards achieving this.
The programme was presided over by College Principal P J Prakash Babu, inaugural address was given by senior civil judge and District Law Service Board Member Secretary Somashekar C Badami. Senior lawyer Sala Siddappa, Nandini and college staff coordinated the event. The dignitaries were welcomed by Shivalingappa and Praveen Mahishi compered the programme.
