Shivamogga: Amid Coronavirus scare in rest of the districts of the state, residents of Shivamoggga, Chikkamagalur and Uttara Kannada are gripped by the Kyasanur Forest Disease which is popularly called as KFD.
According to the authorities, till now 197 persons have been tested positive for KFD.
The health department data shows that highest number of KFD positive cases were reported in Shivamogga with 146 cases followed by Uttara Kannada where 41 cases are reported. Chikkamagalur recorded 10 cases.
Meanwhile, Shivamogga district in-charge minister KS Eshwarappa announced that a high level meeting has been convened in Bengaluru on Wednesday to discuss about the KFD and methods to contain the same.
The state government is likely to announce a slew of measures for this disease containment.
