JNNCE Students’ Annual Performance showcases innovative projects

Shivamogga: The Jawaharlal Nehru National College of Engineering students from Shivamogga showcased their talent during the Students’ Annual Performance held at the college on June 19.

The project exhibition was inaugurated by BJP MLA K S Eshwarappa. Eshwarappa spoke at the inaugural session of Students’ Annual Performance and said that this exhibition was the perfect opportunity for the budding engineers to showcase their talent.

Eshwarappa was also felicitated on the occasion. He was escorted by the lecturers to view the entire exhibition where he interacted with the students and wished them success.

The best projects out of the 200 projects undertaken by JNNCE students of seven engineering departments were exhibited. Many of these projects were aimed at solving problems with regard to agriculture, healthcare, security, automation, women’s safety and finance. Most of the projects were based on the revolutionary ideas of IoT.

Among the projects exhibited, the notable ones include: “Innovative Pervious” a type of paver blocks which is intended to avoid water stagnation over pedestrian sidewalks and to recharge the ground water, “IoT for HOME” to make all the home appliance controlled by an Android app, “Automatic Fetal Detection in Ultrasound Images” for early detection of abnormality, “Target Eliminator and Home Security Surveillance” a smarter way to provide home security, “Computational Genomics” that aimed at developing a search, sequencing and analysis tools for scientists and research scholars in the field of Genomics, “Arogya Mitra” for emergency alerts and early diagnosis of disorders, “Internet of Things” for optimisation of power dissipation in campus for efficient utilisation of power controlling the lights through Android mobile, “Rotary Automated Car Parking System”, “Women Safety Device”, “Digital Note Taker”, “Agri Smart”-an IoT device for precision farming etc.

The guests of honour were S N Nagaraja, Secretary, NES and C R Nagaraja, Treasurer, NES, Dr. H R Mahadevaswamy, Principal, JNNCE and Dr. L K Sreepathi, Vice Principal. Dr. P Manjunatha, HoD, E&C, coordinated the exhibition. In this exhibition, about 50 best of best projects of seven engineering departments are exhibited out of 200 projects. Department wise best projects are awarded cash prize and certificate.
