Shivamogga: Member of Parliament B Y Raghavendra and the Bharatiya Janata Party State President B S Yeddyurappa flagged off the Janashatabdi Express at the Shivamogga Railway Station on Sunday, February 3.
The first train departed at 7.17 PM and travelled from Shivamogga station to Bhadravati station.
The train service between Shivamogga-Yeshwantpur will be available four days a week.
It will be available on every alternate day i.e., on Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. On these days it will be leaving from Shivamogga at 5.15 AM and reaching Bengaluru at 10.10 AM and on the same evening it will depart at 5.30 PM from Bengaluru and reach to Shivamogga at 10.25 PM.
The train will only halt at Bhadravati, Kadur, and Tumakuru.
It has 24 bogies with six air-conditioned compartments.
The price of Non-A/C compartment ticket will be Rs 145 and A/C Rs 485.
The train number for Shivamogga-Bengaluru will be 12090 and return train number will be 12089.
It is also made clear by the railway authorities that the tickets will not be made available in the railway stations but can only be booked online even via Paytm. The seats will be available by reservation only, he specified.
After flagging off the train, B Y Raghavendra, BJP MLC Ayanur Manjunath, Yeddyurappa and few other leaders travelled in the train from Shivamogga to Bhadravati station.
