Shivamogga: “On the basis of survey we chose Madhu Bangarappa as the coalition candidate of Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency. Now the decision and future of the country lies in the hands of the voters”, said State Water Resource Minister D K Shivakumar, here on Sunday, March 31.
Addressing a press meet he criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party and said, “From past five years, no job creation is visible, be it in private or public sector. Doctors and engineers are working for thousand rupees salary in call centres. Now, the decision lies in the hands of the voters, whether to decide for a better future or not”.
DKShi said, “The BJP government at the Centre has submitted an affidavit to ban arecanut , deeming it to be injurious to health, which has hit the arecanut growers. If the Congress comes to power at the Centre, we will work for the farmers”.
“The BJP government has evicted the tribes from their natural habitat. Under the leadership of the Congress party veteran leader Kagodu Thimmappa and the state government we worked towards their safety”, he added.
DKShi criticized the BJP candidate B Y Raghvendra by saying, “I’m not sure so as to how promptly has B Y Raghavendra acted to the demands of the people. I’ve seen only photos of his with Union Minister for Drinking Water and Sanitation Uma Bharati, but none of the projects have been implemented in the district regarding the water resource”.
“I being a state water resource minister have responded to his demands. I don’t know why their party leaders are not taking their own MP’s demand into consideration?” he added.
He said that former chief minister Bangarappa and he had a good friendly relation and that shall continue with Madhu Bangarappa’s entry.
Taunting BJP State President B S Yeddyurappa, DKShi said, “The time has come for BSY to rest. I’m confident that you all will send him home. “
He criticized BSY saying that he was the reason for union minister Ananth Kumar’s wife Tejaswini Ananth Kumar losing the ticket from Bengaluru South.
DKShi questioned the Income Tax raid and asked, “Is BSY, spokesperson for the I-T department? How can he say that the raids had happened only on the businessmen and not politicians?”
“None of the raid is being carried out on the BJP leaders. People are watching, how one can misuse an autonomous body like the I-T department for their political gains”, he added.
