Shivamogga: With an incidental death of a man due to lack of ventilator has exposed lack of ventilator facility in the district.
Anand (46) from Shikaripura was brought into Mc Gann Teaching District Hospital on Saturday May 8. He was allegedly just given oxygen and denied ventilator, it is alleged. Now he has died suffering due to lack of ventilator.
Allegations have been made that the person who required ICU beds was shifted into general ward. Officials at the hospital here too have not given any details about the bed system.
But a board that there is no oxygen bed for Covid patients was displayed here yesterday too. However, it is the May 4 figure. According to the same, there is no availability of 400 oxygen beds, 30 ventilators and 20 HNFC bed 20.
