Shivamogga: Former MLA and JDS Lok Sabha candidate from Shivamogga constituency Madhu Bangarappa has declared that this time he is here to win.
Addressing reporters here, on Tuesday, Madhu said that last time he was reluctant to take a plunge into elections, but he had to respect the trust that was deposited on him by the JDS leadership and hence he contested the elections.
“However, this time I am here to win. I will set right all the mistakes that happened during the assembly elections and ensure victory,” he said adding that the JDS has again deposited its trust on him and has declared him as the party candidate from Shivamogga constituency for the upcoming polls. He said that he was confident about the Congress party workers supporting him in the polls.
Taking a jibe at BJP State President BS Yeddyurappa, Madhu said that it took Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy to solve the various issues of Shikaripura as BSY failed to deliver. “When the people of the state gave you power, why did you fail to help Shikaripura, which is your home turf,” Madhu questioned BSY.
It may be recalled that after his defeat in the assembly election, against BSY’s son BY Raghavendra, Madhu Bangarappa went on a sabbatical. He had remained away from political events and had not made any appearances at the JDS party programmes too.
