Shivamogga: Putting an end to the rumors of the possibility of the Janata Dal (Secular) joining hands with the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), former Karnataka chief minister and JD(S) scion H D Kumaraswamy (HDK) said that he would never join hands with either of the parties in the event of a hung Assembly.

Confident that the JD(S) would win with a majority he said, “I have learnt from my mistake in 2006.”

After witnessing the lack of development in the state at the hands of the BJP and the Congress parties, he said that he decided to never join hands with either of the parties.

HDK was in Holehonnuru to campaign for the upcoming Karnataka Assembly Election for the JD(S) candidate Sharada Poorya Nayka.

Holehonnuru is a large village located in the Bhadravati Taluk of the Shimoga district and is located 20 KM towards East of the District head quarters in Shivamogga.

Addressing a large gathering of his supporters, HDK likened Sharada to their sisters and daughters saying, “She is honest, so you must elect her once again as the MLA of rural Shivamogga and she will become a Minister in our future cabinet. I promise you this.”

She has done various developmental projects for the people and still wants to do more, especially for the farmers. She is approachable and very friendly like a family member, he said.

Speaking about the work the party would take up after winning the elections, he said that the farmers’ loans would be waived off and also that pensions would be increased. He also promised a nominal monthly amount for women and to solve the issue of water for agriculture.
