Shivamogga: Acting on a tip-off, the Excise Department sleuths have seized ganja plants, illegally cultivated in a paddy field at Shyadalakoppa in Soraba taluk on August 13.
It is gathered that after officials raided the paddy field, the accused went absconding.
The raid had been carried out under the guidance of the Deputy Commissioner R Mohan, as directed by the Sagar sub-division DySP Leelavathi.
Excise Circle Inspector Vinay Gaonkar, Sub Inspector Dayananda C M along with staff Gangadarappa H M, Kanthappa J H, Banuprakash H D, Yellappa D K, Thopanna and Raghupathi Gowda took part in the raid.
